Welcome to Crewkerne Running Club

|
EVERYONE WELCOME We are a friendly club, with over sixty members, meeting three times weekly. A number of Club Special Events are arranged, which, in the early part of the year, provide training for events such as the London Marathon.
Non-members are welcome to come along to sample any of the club's regular meetings or special events. If it is the first time, please phone or email to check dates and times. See contacts page for details HAITI EARTHQUAKE DISASTER The raffle at this years Christmas Dinner raised £105. Allthough this money is normally donated to a local charity the committee made the decision to donate this years raffle money to the Haiti disaster fund. This has been done by handing it to the Crewkerne Rotary Club who send boxes of supplies directly to the areas where they are needed. As this is done by volunteers the entire donation is used to help the victims with no admin deducted.

New Runners
Well, spring is on the way and if you feel you have overindulged during the festive season or just want to get fit again this may be for you. Crewkerne Running Club are out to promote running and jogging as a cheap, easy and friendly way to fitness. We are aware, however, that many people may be discouraged by the thought of going out with the seasoned, marathon fit athletes who make up a running club. Well think again! Whilst we have our fair share of fit young fast people we also have many less ambitious members who just enjoy the company and banter of running with a club. Starting on Thursday January 28th. At 6.30 pm we plan to set up a multi group training evening which will offer a number of groups going various distances and speeds. All the members of each group will stay together at the speed of the slowest runners. So, even if you have never been running before get yourself a pair of suitable trainers and give it a go. There will be no pressure and the emphasis will be on enjoying the fresh air and company. If you like the sound of this want to give it a try please call Sue on 01460 73673 or Derek on 01460 74150. We look forward to seing you.... |
